The 2024 edition of GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo welcomed 535 exhibitors, including 115 first-time exhibiting companies, occupying over 200,000 net square feet, and more than 9,400 participants.

Dave Argus of Karas & Karas Glass and Cal Beyer of SAFE Workplaces discussed recovery-safe workplaces at the Main Stage. Argus and Beyer say that providing a safe and welcoming workplace for recovering addicts is the key to eliminating the stigma around addiction. Karas & Karas Glass is one such workplace.

Jenni Chase, vice president, workforce development, National Glass Assoc. and Jeff Dalaba, director of program development, AGMT Glazier Certification discussed common missteps and challenges companies face developing internal training programs, as well as strategies to make internal training more effective, improve work quality and empower employees.

During the Blueprint for Collaboration event on the GlassBuild Main Stage, representatives from glazing contractor Giroux Glass and their project team partners, including GlasPro and Pulp Studio, discussed the challenges and successes on recent projects during the Case Studies for Collaboration.

The GlassBuild Main Stage kicked off Sept. 30 in Dallas with the Industry Trends Roundtable. The session is part of Blueprint for Collaboration, a day for the architect and design community to collaborate with the glass and glazing industry.

The Glazing Executives Forum drew more than 220 attendees on Sept. 30 for discussion of artificial intelligence, risk forecasting, estimating best practices and more. The event also included a meeting for the NGA’s Installing Committee and the return of economic forecaster, Connor Lokar of ITR Economics.   

NGA's Urmilla Jokhu-Sowell and Tom Culp shared that while there were no changes regarding windows in the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code and ASHRAE 90.1, energy codes are starting to look at renewable energy for new construction, such as solar, wind, photovoltaic or BIPV.

Connor Lokar, senior forecaster, ITR Economics, and Chris Beard, director of building products research, John Burns Research and Consulting, took the Main Stage at GlassBuild America in Dallas on Sept. 30 to discuss economic trends for the commercial and residential markets.

The Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council will host its hands-on certification testing program for experienced glazing supervisors and technicians, live on the show floor at GlassBuild America 2024, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in Dallas. The trade show, hosted by the National Glass Association (NGA), marks the first time Architectural Glass & Metal Technician (AGMT) testing will occur in a public forum, with the opportunity for the glazing community to witness the testing process.

The nonresidential building sector should plan for a strong 2023, according to Connor Lokar, senior forecaster, ITR Economics, who delivered the annual economic forecast keynote presentation at GlassBuild America.

GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo has been honored on Trade Show Executive’s (TSE) Gold 100 list.

The first 300 people who register for the show will garner the title of “Vegas VIP.” These VIPs will get private access to the show floor 30 minutes before it opens and be recognized in the official show catalog, on the show floor, the GlassBuild website and on social media.

In 2024, GlassBuild will be held Monday, September 30 through Wednesday, October 2 in Dallas, Texas at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.

In 2025, GlassBuild will be held Tuesday, November 4 through Thursday, November 6 in Orlando, Florida at the Orange County Convention Center.

The World Millwork Alliance (WMA) Annual Convention & Tradeshow will co-locate with GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo, in 2022. The co-located events will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, October 18-20, 2022.
