NGA Glazing Executives Forum

Who should attend? Owners, executives and senior managers from contract glazing and full-service glass companies.

The U.S. glazing market remains healthy, with companies reporting the number of new projects out for bidding or negotiation is as strong as ever. On September 17, glazing company owners and managers will gather at the 2019 Glazing Executives Forum in Atlanta to learn and share best practices for managing growth and building for tomorrow.

For contract glaziers, the last couple of years have provided a multitude of changes and challenges. Façade systems are more integrated, material and labor costs are increasing, and design responsibility is shifting. What can glass contractors do to meet these challenges and provide a better solution for their clients, while at the same time stay competitive?

Presenter David Ben-Israel is a senior cost consultant specializing in design and construction for MGAC, a firm that offers building owners project management, cost and risk management, and vendor sourcing services, in addition to others. As a building owner advocate and Glass Magazine contributor, Ben-Israel offers contract glaziers a unique perspective on the evolving market.

Labor Power Hour: Engage Your Front Line to Increase Your Bottom Line
We typically interview, hire, select and train labor based on the skills they possess. However, problems in the field are primarily based on character—how they do the job. In other words, employees are hired for what they know, and fired for who they are. In this session, Mack and Ria Story will share strategies to increase the productivity of the employees you already have, create a pipeline of leaders, and develop a company culture that attracts and keeps new labor. The result: increased profit, improved morale, and reduced turnover.

Mack Story co-founded Top Story Leadership with his wife, Ria Story, in 2008. Mack is a published author of several leadership books including: Defining Influence, 10 Values of High Impact Leaders, and Blue-Collar Leadership: Leading from the Front Lines. Ria is an author of 11 books, a TEDx Speaker, and has nearly 20 years of experience in leadership and management.

Back by popular demand, Connor Lokar will return to GEF to give an energetic and informative session on business-cycle trends, with a focus on the construction industry to help glazing company executives plan for the future.

Connor Lokar is a program economist at ITR Economics. He provides economic consulting services for businesses, trade associations, and Fortune 500 companies across a spectrum of industries. His economic insight and forecasting experience play a key role in ITR Economics’ 94.7 percent forecast accuracy.
